The Lookout Studios
A residential studio, situated in one of the most beautiful locations in the South of England.
Set within The South Downs National Park, spanning 400,000 acres, a 5 minute drive to the beach, only 8 miles from Brighton and 60 miles from London, The Lookout Studios has easy access to the city, while providing a peaceful, secluded and natural environment to create and relax.
The Studio
The beautiful, bright, world class Lookout Studios was conceived by Andy Barlow of Lamb and set up with the intention of combining technical excellence, with a retreat that offers respite from the stresses of busy life. A triple aspect view brings in plenty of natural light to The Control Room and a pair of Genelec 1238 monitors, set up by Genelec themselves produces phenomenal sound. The Live Room provides a warm, intimate setting, centred around a customised Yamaha upright piano. Some previous clients include Lamb, U2, David Gray, Niklas Paschburg, Confidence Man, Willy Nelson, Fink, Lianne Rhymes, J-Hus and Pa Salieu.
The Retreat
The Lookout Studios is in an ideal, tranquil setting for downtime, outside of recording and writing so that creativity can flow. The Lookout Retreat includes a beautiful house, two gorgeous cabins, a luxury bell tent, a natural amphitheatre and a hot tub elevated to provide views of the valley below.
Catering can be provided throughout and an onsite team is available throughout to help with the studio, accommodation and any other requests.
Writing Camps
With many unique areas throughout, including our incredible, natural Amphitheatre, The Lookout Studios is an ideal location for writing camps to be held. All areas can all be set up as individual writing camp spaces, using a combination of the clients’ and the studios’ equipment.
We provide a team of engineers and technical staff, as well as in-house catering to ensure the process is smooth so that creatives can focus on writing.
